Our office didn’t have a dedicated person to manage all its supply inventories and before I get to see the records, I can already tell that it’s a mess. To solve this problem, my boss recently assigned me to take care of this. The task wasn’t exciting at all because it involves the physical count of all supplies like toners and inkjet cartridges. To make things worse, the records did not match the records and my physical count on the fax cartridges.

My first day on this new task was already hell and I really don’t know if I can do this for my company for a long time. I’m already thinking about talking to my boss and ask him to reassign this task to someone else. Besides, it’s not the only job that I currently handle. I bet he’ll understand why I felt that way. I’d rather take care of our tax records than do an inventory. The only problem is no one else wants the job. Well, I guess my boss needs to find a dedicated person for the job rather than just adding it to other worker’s workload.
